September WAVE Outstanding Work Award

Mrs. Karla Desper, Culinary Arts Instructor/Coordinator for WAVE, was honored with the Business and Education Leader Award from the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce. She was chosen for the award based on her love, passion and commitment for her students and the culinary program she oversees, and for being someone that understands the crucial connection between business and education and the contributions both make for workforce development. The award is one of many the Chamber extends each year to area businesses and community supporters.

September WAVE Outstanding Work Award

Congratulations to Lori Gray from Lake Havasu High School on being selected for the September WOW Award! Ms. Gray teaches the Law and Public Safety program. She has added courses to the program to support student interest, built community relationships for her advisory board and secured a donation of a lab simulator to teach students about industry situations. Along with this, she is the Youth Court Club Advisor and takes her students to the Lake Havasu City courtroom each week! Thanks for being a part of the WAVE and LHHS team!

WOW (WAVE Outstanding Work Award) for August

The WOW Award for the month of August was awarded to Lee Hible from Parker High School. Mr. Hible teaches the automotive and welding programs. He was instrumental in the recent remodel of the shop areas which will enable students to learn in the best way possible. He has also inspired several students to pursue careers in these fields. Congratulations and thank you for being a part of the PHS and WAVE team!
