LHHS Construction Students and FCCLA participate in Arizona Children’s Association “Gifts of Hope” project

Across Arizona, individuals, companies and organizations stepped up to help the children and families served by the Arizona Children's Association by collecting and donating “Gifts of Hope” to help needy families over the holidays.  Joining this effort were the LHHS Construction Students and LHHS FCCLA.  See the full article here.

December Board Meeting Press Release:

At the December 7 meeting the WAVE JTED Governing Board approved their first payments for the 2011-2012 school year to the partner satellite schools.  The board will issue a payment based on the number of students in CTE/JTED classes at each school site.  $392,000 will be dispersed to the schools in the following amounts:  Kingman High School will receive $140,000, $98,700 will go to Lake Havasu High, Mohave High will receive $88,200, River Valley gets $39,000 and Parker High will receive $25,200.

Other board business:

A report was presented regarding the MCC classes in Certified Nursing and Child Development that will begin at Lake Havasu and Kingman for the second semester.  100% of the Kingman High School Certified Nursing students of fall semester passed their MCC class.

Parker High submitted Unique Opportunity Grant requests for agricultural education supplies and competition jackets.  Further information for the requests will be submitted in January.

The revised budget will be submitted to the state in the amount of $3,560,452.  This is a budget reduction of $274,000.

Dawn Solano, the agriculture/welding teacher from Parker High received the Wave Outstanding Work award to honor her service to the Future Farmers Association and work with students in agricultural education.
