At a strategic planning meeting on January 27th the Western Arizona Vocational Education District #50 voted on the guidelines for issuing the second round of funding to the partner high schools. The WAVE JTED is made up of five high schools in four communities across two counties. Schools in Mohave County include Mohave High School and River Valley High School from the Colorado River Union High School District, Kingman High School from Kingman Unified, Lake Havasu High School from Lake Havasu Unified, and Parker High School from Parker Unified in La Paz County. The board voted to appropriate $500.00 per a weighted membership count of students who are currently enrolled in Career and Technical Education/JTED (Joint Technical Education District) courses. The state allows the JTED to collect and receive .25 additional monies for students in these CTE/JTED courses. The counts at the various high schools range from a low of 42 students in the programs to a high of 293 students. The second distribution of funds is expected to be $379,000. There will be a third distribution of funds after the spring taxes are collected.
