Career Connection Tools

Western Arizona Vocational Education (WAVE) is a career and technical education (CTE) district that helps high school students prepare for life after graduation, whether that means entering the workforce immediately or continuing their education.

One way WAVE achieves this is through career connections. We want to help students connect with future employers before they graduate, so they can gain real-world experience in their chosen field!

Mohave County internship & work-experience programs:

Lake Havasu Career Explorations Internships — a paid, 30-hour/6-week internship program for Lake Havasu High School students.

Mohave/La Paz ARIZONA@WORK Youth Program (ages 14–24) — one-on-one career coaching, paid/unpaid internships, Work Experience (WEX) placements, and occupational skills training.

Apprenticeships

Arizona Registered Apprenticeship Program List (job seekers) — the state's official list of active registered apprenticeships (healthcare, construction, IT, manufacturing, etc.); most require only a high school diploma/GED and pay from day one.
Arizona Registrar of Contractors – Apprenticeship Programs — trade-specific (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) apprenticeship info for construction-interested students.

O*NET Career Exploration Tools — broader set of assessments, including for military-to-civilian transitions.
CareerOneStop (U.S. Dept. of Labor) — career articles, salary/outlook data by occupation, and an apprenticeship/job search finder.
Arizona Job Connection (AZJobConnection.gov) — the state's job database; students can post resumes and search openings directly.
Mohave College Career Services — resume help, career advising, and student success coaches based at the Neal Campus (Kingman), Bullhead City, and Lake Havasu City locations.
Arizona Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) — state-approved training providers eligible for WIOA funding, filterable by region.
